Our mission is to celebrate and honor the diversity of the African American LGBTQ community in the Triangle through events open to all.

Shades of Pride is a not-for-profit agency formed to create opportunities to acknowledge, celebrate and include the diversity of North Carolina’s African American LGBTQ community. The agency will also work to deliver programs that increase awareness, prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, diabetes, breast and prostate cancer and other health disparities affecting minority populations. We believe that the effective delivery of these objectives relies on collaboration with all North Carolina’s citizens, public and private sectors and welcome partnerships in this effort.
